Jet comprise of very hot gas and a magnetic field, which together move at a speed very close to speed of light. Aaccording to special relativity, that means they will be emitted as beam. In 1918, Heber Curtis discovered the first jet, it turned out belonged to the supermasive black hole in M87.
Dusk(small solid particles), gas (hydrogen, heium) in accretion disk. As they get closer to the black hole –> gravitational force –> heating up high temp –> gas ionized, turning to plasma.
Black hole drags gas and dust into an accretion disk around it, which spins faster and faster, and increasing the magnetic energy therefore generating magnetic fields. The magnetic field coils up and forms a vortex which is called the jet. The jet can stir the clouds in the galaxies and prevent star formations, but it also can instigate star formation in a super large scale.
